Laptops under $300 are not fairy tale but they are not popping up on every corner either. You have to know where to look and where not to look.

Where Not To Look

eBay – Although ebay was once a bastion of good deals it has morphed into something else entirely. Etailers are taking advantage of ebay’s reputation and selling goods at a premium price. Laptops under 300 dollars that you find there are either tiny or broken.

Craigslist – People aren’t using Craigslist to recap a massive profit. However depending on your locale you may end up finding a plethora of damaged or ancient laptops on Craigslist.

Where to Look

Amazon – Amazon has a huge selection of laptops in the $300 range/ You can find used and refurbished laptops all under Amazon’s buyer protection.

Best Buy – Best Buy has a discount bin in their online store. This is where I picked up my refurbished laptop with my minuscule budget of $250.

You can find a laptop even with a puny little budget. You just need to rethink about where to find deals. Craigslist and eBay are not the best place to find everything at a discount.

Using the built in dictionary that comes with the Amazon Kindle reader is really quite simple. In this article we shall take a closer look at the steps that you have to follow if you want to know how to use the Kindle dictionary feature that comes as standard on all Kindle 3 hand held reading devices sold today. The good news is that it is actually really easy. There are only a few buttons that you need to use.

Just imagine you are reading a book on your Kindle, or even better, get your Amazon Kindle out now. Since most of you will be using the Kindle 3, we shall talk specifically about this version. So if you are reading a book at the moment and you want to find out the meaning of one of the words on the page, this is what you have to do:

  1. Press the 5-way directional button up or down and bring the cursor on to the screen.
  2. Move the cursor to the start of the word that you want to find out about.

When you have done this, you will see a short definition of the word that you are querying appear at either the top or bottom of the screen. If this is enough for you and you want to carry on reading, just press the Back button. However if you want to get a more detailed definition there is a further step that you must follow.

  • While you are looking at the definition which has popped up at the top or bottom of your screen, press the Enter button.

This will take you to a more detailed view of the word that you are looking up. Once you are finished with the definition page, just press your Back button once and you will be taken straight back to the page of your book that you were on.

That’s all there is to it.

Hi-tech is a lot more than computers as we know them. Today technology permeates all aspects of our lives. For instance, from the moment you get up and make your first cup of coffee until you go to bed at night, you use all sorts of different appliances to prepare your meals. Some of these devices are relatively simple electrical units while others are more advanced in nature.

If we take a look at an advanced Zojirushi rice cooker, we discover that there is much more to these kitchen appliances than we first assume. They are more complex than kettles with their on/off functionality. The majority of the rice cookers coming out of Japan these days include a Micom chip. Much like the CPU in a computer, the Micom component is the brains inside the rice cooker. Machines with this feature will never burn the rice and provided you get your ratio of rice:water correct, you are pretty much guaranteed perfect rice.

Technology is much more than just IT. Regardless of whether we like computers or not, we all make use of technology every day of our lives.

The Amazon Kindle reader comes with a large set of pre-loaded images that are displayed when the device is powered off. But did you know that you are not actually limited to the images that Amazon provide? There are in fact loads of different images that can be loaded on to the your electronic book reader. One of the places where you can find a number of ready made screen savers that you can load on to your Kindle is from the Booksprung eBook News and Tips website.

Before you are able to load on extra images to be used on your Kindle handheld device, you have to run a jailbreak program. You can download this from the Booksprung website. Then once you have done that, you will be able to load on any images that you choose to use. For instance, you can download a collection of Halloween images.

Kindle 3 users who want to personalize their device or just change things up from the factory settings might be keen on this sort of image pack. There are a number of different sets that you are able to find online. Of course, the current limitation is for black, white and grayscale images. But when the color Kindle is released, the possibilities for screen saver images will increase dramatically.
