In 1995, Bart Kemper decided to start his own company out of his home. The corporate engineering firm he'd been working for had taught him many things, among them the insight that running your own business is the way to go if you are a free thinker. The structured corporate engineer mold didn't fit Bart anymore, and the front bedroom of his house became the center of a small, but busy, engineering, photography, and graphic design firm. The company flourished under this arrangement until the number of clients and the workload grew to the point that it could no longer be contained in one room. At this point Kemper Imageering moved out of the house and into its first offices. This led to the incorporation of Kemper Imageering, Inc. in March of 1997. Bart Kemper was named President; Rayma Kemper was installed as the Vice President and Clarence Kemper as Secretary. These first few years saw some of the most interesting jobs come our way. We worked on deep sea diving equipment, lasers, crash barriers, and various photography jobs and graphic design projects. Kemper Imageering occupied a unique position because of its willingness to take on difficult and innovative jobs. In 2003, Bart Kemper was deployed as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom I for six months. It was a difficult period for Kemper Imageering, but with hard work and determination, we made it through and were back in full swing by August 2003. New job opportunities were coming in at a steady pace. Work ranged from mechanical designs for an art installation, offshore and pipeline jobs, and a complete redesign for a facility to process chemicals. We moved into new offices and in October 2004, hired our first full-time employees: Brad Duhon, an engineering intern; Wendell Babin, a designer (draftsman?); and Cynthia Daigle, a graphic design intern. In February of 2005, we hired an office manager, Shana McClelland, to help us reorganize and prepare to take on our next major hurdle, Bart's second deployment as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom IV. As part of the company's reorganization, Rayma Kemper replaced Bart as President and Bart was made Vice President. In May of 2005, Cynthia Daigle graduated from LSU and became our full-time graphic designer. After his retirement from LSU, Jack Helms, PhD, was brought on board in June of 2005 to replace Bart as Principal Engineer during the deployment. While Bart is in Iraq serving our Country, our staff is ready and able to take on the most challenging engineering, design, or photography projects. Bart will return to Kemper Imageering in November 2006. We look forward to working with your company in the future. |
