Hi-tech is a lot more than computers as we know them. Today technology permeates all aspects of our lives. For instance, from the moment you get up and make your first cup of coffee until you go to bed at night, you use all sorts of different appliances to prepare your meals. Some of these devices are relatively simple electrical units while others are more advanced in nature.
If we take a look at an advanced Zojirushi rice cooker, we discover that there is much more to these kitchen appliances than we first assume. They are more complex than kettles with their on/off functionality. The majority of the rice cookers coming out of Japan these days include a Micom chip. Much like the CPU in a computer, the Micom component is the brains inside the rice cooker. Machines with this feature will never burn the rice and provided you get your ratio of rice:water correct, you are pretty much guaranteed perfect rice.
Technology is much more than just IT. Regardless of whether we like computers or not, we all make use of technology every day of our lives.
